At Stacey Riley Interiors, we realize the impact on the earth of purchasing new products and using chemicals to treat these products. So anything that we can do to reduce waste—even the smallest of actions matters. This is why Stacey Riley Interiors wants to let you know that there are many products within the design industry that can be selected to avoid creating unnecessary waste.
Designing "green" products is a new concept for many manufacturers, but most are starting to offer environmentally sensitive product lines. These include flooring, tile, paint, furniture and fabrics. Most carpet manufacturers have already introduced lines using only recycled materials. Tile manufacturers have been using recycled glass for sometime now, but have begun using the glass in new and creative ways. Paint is widely available in low VOC and with green sustainable considerations. There are furniture lines that only use recycled woods and that are produced locally—even just choosing a product manufactured in the state cuts down on how far that product has to travel to make it to your home. Fabric companies are starting to use recycled fibers and offer fabrics that are not treated with chemical finishes.
If you are interested in hearing more about any of these products, or having them used in your home, please contact Stacey Riley Interiors.
